Born
in Narni (Terni) [ITALY] on the 15th March 1970, Martino Fani
gets an Art degree in 1987 at the Art Institute “Orneore
Metelli” in Terni, where he graduates two years later. He
gets a Preservation of the Artistic Heritage degree, with a particular
attention to Modern History and Art. He is particularly interested
in the History of Renaissance Art.
In the early part of his production he produces studies over the
work of some Renaissance and Mannerist artists. He lives and works
in Orte, in the north of Lazio.
This is what he thinks of painting: “…a picture is
a key that opens the door of our sensibility, but not all pictures
manage to do that. It is up to us hiding our lock.”
Talking about his seascapes and landscapes he says: “they
have a ring of truth, yet they are not material places, I expect
them to be places of souls, of my soul at least.”
